This postcard presents a German soldier seated on a bench, dressed in his World War I uniform. The soldier's relaxed posture and setting, with a backdrop of greenery, suggest this may have been taken during a moment of rest or leisure.
On the reverse, the handwritten message is in German, dated June 1916, from the city of Lille, a significant location occupied by German forces during the war. The text reads:
"Meinem lieben Paul zur freundlichen Erinnerung an die Zeit im Boriag?Lager bei Lille gewidmet.
Dein Franz Reichl"
(Translation: To my dear Paul, as a friendly memory of the time in the Boriag?Camp near Lille. Dedicated to you by your friend Franz Reichl.)
