Alessandro Mendini - Christmas baubles Alessi (3) - Set of 3 Christmas baubles - ''Proust'' - Glass

The set of three Christmas baubles titled "Proust" designed by Alessandro Mendini for Alessi marries festive decoration with artistic ingenuity. Crafted from glass, these baubles reflect Mendini's signature postmodernist style characterized by vibrant colors, playful forms, and thoughtful reinterpretations of everyday objects. Glass as a material has long been cherished for holiday ornaments due to its delicate translucency and ability to capture light, creating a festive glow. These baubles are more than simple decorations; they represent a fusion of tradition and contemporary art, taking inspiration from cultural references such as Marcel Proust, evoking nostalgia and memory. Collectors of design objects and seasonal décor appreciate such special editions for their craftsmanship and conceptual depth, which add a distinctive charm to holiday celebrations. Their artistic value also positions them as collectible items beyond their seasonal use.
