Andrea Boscolo is known for creating sculptural glassware that combines artistic expression with functional design. This Murano stem cup, crafted from glass, exemplifies the distinctive style typical of Murano artisans—celebrated for their innovative techniques and vibrant color palettes. Stem cups are a form of drinking vessel characterized by a bowl or cup mounted on a stem, which allows for handling without warming the contents, historically used for wine or aperitifs. Murano glass is prized globally for its clarity, intricate craftsmanship, and the incorporation of traditional glassblowing and sculpting methods passed down through generations. Such glassware can serve both practical and decorative roles, appealing to collectors and connoisseurs who appreciate the union of utility and fine art.
