Coat rack - Wood, Metal, Plastic - Space Age

Space Age design coat racks embody the futuristic aesthetic popularized during the 1960s and 1970s, characterized by bold shapes, novel materials, and a sense of optimism about technology and space exploration. Combining wood, metal, and plastic, these coat racks not only serve a practical role in entryways or hallways but also act as striking decorative elements. The use of plastics allowed designers to experiment with forms and colors, while metal and wood components provided structure and warmth. This style is notable for its playful, sometimes sculptural qualities that reflect cultural fascination with the future during that era, appealing to collectors and enthusiasts of retro and modernist design.
