Dish - Earthenware - Plooischotel

This earthenware dish, described as a plooischotel, is a traditional ceramic serving plate shaped and decorated distinctively. Earthenware is a common ceramic material fired at relatively low temperatures, resulting in a porous but sturdy product often glazed for durability and aesthetics. Plooischotel dishes are typically part of Dutch or European folk tableware and may bear characteristic patterns or shapes related to regional customs. These dishes serve functional purposes at the dining table while also embodying cultural identity through their design and decoration. Collectors of traditional earthenware value such pieces for their artisanal qualities, historical context, and ability to evoke the atmosphere of everyday life in past centuries.
