The KPM porcelain openwork plates are fine examples of German craftsmanship representing the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM). KPM is renowned for its high-quality porcelain, dating back to the 18th century, celebrated for its artistry and technical excellence. Openwork porcelain involves intricate cut-out designs that add delicate lace-like patterns to the plate's rim or body, showcasing the skill of the porcelain maker. Such plates combine functionality with ornamental display, often used for special occasions or as decorative objects. Collectors prize KPM pieces for their royal heritage and elegant design, which symbolize European aristocratic taste in porcelain artistry.
