Master Cabinet Maker, 1930s - Hungarian werkbund - Fauteuil (2) - Sliding Lounge Armchair - Walnut - Fully Restored!

The 1930s Hungarian Werkbund movement embraced modernity, functionalism, and fine craftsmanship in furniture design, often combining traditional materials like walnut wood with innovative forms. A sliding lounge armchair from this era typically features clean lines, ergonomic comfort, and a blend of practicality with aesthetic appeal. Walnut wood is prized for its strength, durability, and rich, warm tones, making it a favored choice among master cabinet makers. The full restoration of such pieces allows preservation of their historical and artistic value while making them suitable for contemporary living spaces. These armchairs exemplify the transitional design sensibilities of interwar Europe, balancing artisanal detail with the emerging modernist ethos.
