Minolta XG-S + MD Rokkor 50mm f1.7 Single lens reflex camera (SLR)

The Minolta XG-S is a classic 35mm single lens reflex (SLR) camera introduced in the late 1970s. It features manual and aperture-priority exposure modes, making it an excellent choice for photography enthusiasts who want to learn the fundamentals of exposure control. The camera is built around a robust metal body and employs a through-the-lens (TTL) metering system for accurate light measurement. Paired with the MD Rokkor 50mm f/1.7 lens, this setup offers a versatile standard focal length ideal for everyday photography, portraits, and street scenes. The fast f/1.7 aperture allows for shallow depth of field effects and better low-light performance. Together, this camera and lens combination embodies the era's advancing technology and reliability, providing an accessible entry point for classic film photography lovers.
