Nabatean pottery, such as this very rare ribbed vessel measuring 160 mm, reflects the sophisticated ceramic traditions of the Nabatean civilization centered around Petra in the 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. Known for their distinctive pottery styles, Nabatean ceramics often feature intricate ribbing and geometric decorations that blend influences from Arabian and Mediterranean cultures. These vessels served practical functions for storage and domestic use while also embodying aesthetic qualities characteristic of the desert kingdom’s artisans.
