Pokémon - 1 Card - Vintage Japanese Misty's Tears Gym Heroes Old Back 1998 EX

Misty's Tears is a notable card from the Pokémon TCG's Gym Heroes expansion, released in 1998. This Japanese vintage card is part of the 'Old Back' series, a design featuring the original Pokémon logo and card layout before modern updates. Gym Heroes spotlighted various Gym Leaders and their Pokémon, with Misty, the Cerulean City Gym Leader, featuring prominently. Her signature card, "Misty's Tears," depicts her iconic relationship with the water-type Pokémon Starmie, reflected in artwork emotive of the anime's themes. Vintage cards from this era are sought after by collectors for their nostalgic value and rarity, especially in Japanese versions which often have subtle aesthetic differences from their English counterparts. The card reflects the early days of the Pokémon craze and the foundational gameplay mechanics that have evolved substantially since.
