Prof. Volker Schönwart Original colour drawing - Donald Duck - Studie zu Alter Seemann mit Südwester - 2023

Volker Schönwart is an artist known for his detailed and colorful drawings, often depicting iconic comic characters such as Donald Duck. This original 2023 drawing appears to be a study for an older sailor character wearing a sou'wester hat, a traditional waterproof cap used by seafarers. Such studies are crucial in character design for comics and animation to explore expressions, postures, and costume details before finalizing a depiction. Donald Duck, part of the classic Disney canon, has been illustrated by many artists over decades, and works like this show the ongoing evolution and reinterpretation of beloved characters. Hand-drawn, full-color studies blend traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities and may appeal to collectors of original comic art and Disney aficionados.
