Reiki for Performance Horses: Energy Practices for Calm, Focus, Recovery, and Connection (Horse Spirituality)

Reiki for Performance Horses

Your horse may be trained to perform under pressure—but what is happening beneath the performance?

Behind every flawless round, powerful stride, difficult training session, long trailer ride, and competition result is a living, feeling horse navigating expectation, effort, recovery, uncertainty, and an extraordinary relationship with the human asking them to perform.

Reiki for Performance Horses offers a compassionate new way to support the equine athlete without turning energy work into one more demand.

Through immersive stories, practical Reiki practices, thoughtful observation, and a deeply horse-centered approach, Beau James Thomas explores how riders can bring greater calm, awareness, connection, and emotional balance into every stage of a performance horse’s life—from daily training and competition preparation to travel, recovery, injury, rehabilitation, declining performance, and eventual retirement.

Discover how to recognize subtle tension before it becomes resistance, create calmer training experiences, support focus without force, use Reiki before and after work, protect recovery during demanding competition seasons, understand the rider’s own competitive energy, and preserve the relationship when winning begins to overshadow the horse.

Most importantly, this book asks a powerful question:

What if peak performance is not simply about how much a horse can achieve—but how well we protect the horse while achieving it?

Whether you compete seriously, train an athletic horse, support an aging competitor, or simply want a deeper and more respectful partnership with your horse, this book will change the way you think about performance.

Your horse is more than the score.

More than the ribbon.

More than the next competition.

Discover a way to pursue excellence without losing the relationship that makes excellence worth pursuing.
