This historical postcard features the Kurhaus in Scheveningen, one of the most iconic seaside landmarks in the Netherlands.
The Kurhaus of Scheveningen, built in 1884–1885, was designed by the German architects Johann Friedrich Henkenhaf and Friedrich Ebert as a luxurious seaside resort. It quickly became a favorite destination for European aristocrats and wealthy travelers, offering elegant accommodations, fine dining, and entertainment along the Dutch coast.
Located in The Hague’s seaside district, Scheveningen was known for its therapeutic sea baths, grand promenades, and entertainment venues. The Kurhaus hosted concerts, social gatherings, and international guests, making it a symbol of leisure and sophistication in the Netherlands.
The reverse side of the postcard follows a Dutch "Briefkaart" (Carte Postale) format.
Front Text: "Scheveningen – Kurhaus Landzijde." (Land Side of the Kurhaus)
