Antique Chinese elm coffee table with a 2 plank top and detailed pierced carved apron running around the frame. The previous lacquered finish has been stripped away to reveal the much softer, pale elm beneath, before being sealed with clear wax. The apron combines geometric fretwork with small carved details, sitting above four simple square legs. A generous low table with plenty of surface space for books, pottery and everyday living.
