Structural Noetic Astrology, Part 1: A New Paradigm for Consciousness and Matter
Many scientists working at the quantum level often draw parallels between the phenomena they observe and principles found in Eastern spiritual philosophy. In this sense, quantum physics is frequently seen as a reconciliation of science with spirituality. Ironically, for astrology to embrace a comparable new paradigm, it would need to demonstrate the reverse: a reconciliation of spirituality with science. It was precisely with this aim that the French astrologers Dom Neróman (pen name of Pierre Rougié) and Jean Carteret introduced the concepts of the Black Luminaries in the 20th century. Their pioneering work has since been continued and expanded by George Bode and a group of Dutch astrologers in the 21st century under the name Structural Astrology.
In essence, Structural Astrology extends the esoteric and psychological foundations of traditional astrology—based on the study of the visible luminaries and planets—into the metaphysical realm of Consciousness suggested by quantum science. It does so by incorporating the “invisible” luminaries and planetary bodies known as the Black Luminaries, along with two planets beyond Pluto. To date, only a small number of astrologers have embraced the work of Neróman, Carteret, and Bode. Because their research has been published primarily in French and Dutch, very little of it has become accessible internationally. Fully engaging with their vision requires a radical shift in how we understand astrology. This book is intended as the first step in bringing their work to a broader audience.
This volume is the opening installment of a three–part series. Part I introduces the fundamental concepts of Structural Astrology and its paradigm-shifting perspective. Part II will explore the dynamic processes that these new factors represent within the horoscope. Part III will focus on practical applications, addressing the integration of Structural Astrology into astrological practice and client work.
Part I is not designed as a beginner’s manual for learning astrology. While it contains a wealth of general esoteric, scientific, and philosophical material that will be of interest to thoughtful readers, it is best suited for those already familiar with the core elements of astrology—the planets, signs, and houses—as well as some knowledge of astrology’s historical and theoretical development.
