Svend Aage Holm Sørensen - Hanging lamp - Metal, Brass - Brutalist

A hanging lamp by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen, featuring metal and brass in a Brutalist style, represents a mid-20th-century design approach emphasizing raw, bold forms and material honesty. Brutalist lighting often showcases unadorned surfaces, geometric shapes, and industrial aesthetics, reflecting the post-war architectural movement. Brass contributes warmth and durability, contrasting with cooler metals used in the construction. Such lamps serve as functional art pieces, combining robust construction with sculptural qualities. They are valued in modern and contemporary interiors aiming to incorporate statement lighting with artistic integrity.
