TARA: Inside Out: 15 Years with the Black Sheep of Yoga

15 Years Inside a Controversial Tantra Community

If a spiritual movement is widely criticised, why do people remain within it for years—sometimes decades?

For fifteen years, Kieran Dowling immersed himself in one of Europe’s most controversial yoga schools—while continuing a normal life in the modern world. Beyond the familiar postures and studio culture, he encountered a system that reached into every aspect of life: discipline, relationships, sexuality, service, and the pursuit of consciousness itself.

TARA: Inside Out is neither a defence, nor an exposé. It is an insider’s account of Tantra-Yoga practices that are often misunderstood, simplified, or dismissed outright - presented through lived experience rather than theory alone.

Inside, you will find:

Purification practices and Karma Yoga as they are actually applied
The transformation of sexuality into what is termed Eros
The role of polarity in relationships and spiritual development
A system that extends beyond practice into everyday life

From community living and Hatha Yoga to the transformation of sex into Eros and the dynamics of polarity, this book explores what happens when Tantra and Yoga are taken seriously - not just on the mat, but in life. No area is left untouched.

It is a journey into a world that many have heard about, few have entered, and even fewer have stayed long enough to understand.

TARA: Inside Out offers a rare insider perspective on a path that is as mysterious as it is demanding. It does not seek to convince, but to show—what is actually taught, what is actually practised, and what it can do to a person over time.
