This original animation cel with painted background is from "Marmalade Boy," a popular anime series aired during 1994/1995, produced by Toei Animation. The series is a classic romantic comedy that resonates with the shoujo (girls’) manga and anime genre. Original cels from this era represent a transitional phase in animation where traditional techniques were still predominant before digital animation fully took over. Such cels, especially with backgrounds included, are treasured by fans for their artistic value and as memorabilia from influential series that shaped the romance genre in anime.
