United States. Peace Dollar 1927-S (No reserve price)

The 1927-S Peace Dollar is a notable example of the United States Peace Dollar series minted from 1921 to 1935. These silver dollars were designed to commemorate peace following World War I, featuring the goddess Liberty on the obverse and a perched bald eagle clutching an olive branch on the reverse. The 'S' mintmark indicates it was minted in San Francisco. Valued for both its artistic design by Anthony de Francisci and its historical symbolism, the 1927-S coin is a sought-after piece among numismatists, particularly as some dates and mintmarks in this series are scarcer. The Peace Dollar series remains an iconic representation of American coinage in the early 20th century, reflecting themes of national healing and hope after wartime.
