Karl Ens, Volkstedt - Sculpture, Garça-Real - 25 cm - Porcelain - 1920

Karl Ens was an artist associated with Volkstedt porcelain, a German manufactory noted for producing fine porcelain figurines during the early 20th century. The sculpture titled "Garça-Real" (meaning "Royal Heron" in Portuguese) is a porcelain representation of this majestic bird, standing approximately 25 centimeters tall. Volkstedt's porcelain figurines are admired for their delicate modeling, detailed painting, and lifelike qualities. Birds such as herons are popular subjects symbolizing grace and nobility, making such pieces appealing both as decorative art and collectibles. Produced around 1920, this figurine reflects period artistic tastes combining naturalistic detail with stylistic elegance inherent to European porcelain traditions of the time.
