pocket wall vases - Porcelain - China - 20th century

Pocket wall vases from 20th century China are unique porcelain decorative objects designed to be hung on walls, combining practical floral display with ornamental appeal. Unlike traditional vases, pocket vases often have a flat back and a small opening, allowing them to be mounted and hold single stems or small flower arrangements. These pieces reflect a blend of ancient Chinese ceramic traditions with modern adaptations for interior decorating purposes. Porcelain, known for its delicacy and translucence, is a favored material in Chinese art history, often featuring painted motifs or glazes that enhance aesthetic value. Such vases exemplify the continuation and evolution of porcelain artistry into contemporary periods, appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts of decorative arts.
