Presepe africano vintage scolpito a mano – 11 figure – Legno massello - Nativity scene (11) - Wood

This vintage African nativity scene carved from solid wood captures a unique cultural interpretation of the traditional biblical narrative. Nativity scenes, or 'presepe', depict the birth of Jesus Christ and typically include figures like Mary, Joseph, the infant Jesus, shepherds, and the Magi. The hand-carved nature of this set showcases expert craftsmanship, with each of the 11 figures reflecting detailed woodwork that emphasizes African artistic styles and motifs. Solid hardwoods are common in African sculpture, prized for their durability and rich grain, which provide both a lasting and visually appealing medium.
