Scleranthus uniflorus, commonly known as Knawel Cushion or New Zealand Moss, is a low-growing perennial that forms a dense, moss-like carpet of bright green foliage. This unique plant is prized for its soft, cushiony texture and compact, mat-forming habit, making it an excellent choice for ground cover, rock gardens, and between stepping stones. In summer, Scleranthus uniflorus produces tiny, inconspicuous green flowers, adding a subtle charm to its lush foliage. This resilient plant is both drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, making it an attractive and practical addition to any garden.
