Serving trolley - Gilt brass, Glass - Brass and glass serving cart

A serving trolley made from gilt brass and glass is an elegant and practical addition to hospitality and domestic settings. Serving trolleys or carts traditionally facilitate the transport of beverages, food, or utensils during social gatherings or meals. Gilt brass offers a luxurious, golden appearance achieved by applying a thin layer of gold over brass, creating a durable, lustrous finish. The incorporation of glass shelves or panels provides visual lightness and allows for display of items with clarity, complementing the sheen of the metal framework. Such trolleys became particularly popular in mid-20th century design, valued for their portability, sophistication, and space-saving qualities. Their combination of metal and glass often reflects Art Deco or modernist influences, enhancing the ambiance of entertaining spaces while serving a functional role.
