Most of the physical world is invisible to us.
We see only a fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum, hear only a narrow range of sound, and possess none of the senses that allow other animals to detect ultraviolet light, infrared, electrical fields or Earth's magnetic field. Yet all of these things are real, measurable and capable of carrying information.

Our own bodies are no less remarkable. Every nerve impulse is electrical. Every heartbeat produces measurable electrical activity. Living tissue generates heat, fields and signals that exist whether we consciously perceive them or not.
The Science of Reiki begins there.

Rather than asking you simply to believe in an invisible energy — or dismiss it because it cannot be seen — Reiki practitioner Rob Baard asks a different question: what does modern science already tell us about the invisible world in and around the human body, and how much of Reiki might eventually be understood within it?

The answer is not a declaration that science has proved Reiki. It is something more interesting: the world Reiki asks us to consider is nowhere near as scientifically impossible as it first appears.
