This butter dish, designed by Stefano Giovannoni and Paul Van Iersel Harry for Alessi, represents a fusion of form and function in contemporary kitchenware. Crafted from thermoplastic resin, the main body is durable and practical, finished in a sleek black color that complements a range of kitchen decor styles. Included is a small spatula made of 18/10 stainless steel, a high-quality alloy known for its corrosion resistance and lustrous finish, which ensures efficient spreading of butter or sauce. The set is named "Ship Shape," a moniker that likely references its clean, streamlined design with subtle nautical inspirations. The design demonstrates Alessi’s ethos of blending everyday utility with artistic expression, making it a collectible piece for design enthusiasts as well as a practical tool for daily use in the kitchen or dining room. The combination of materials highlights a contrast between warm, tactile resin and cool, shining steel, making it both visually appealing and easy to maintain.
