Magnificent vintage enamelled plaque - Michelin Bibendum - Enamel plate - Steel

This vintage enameled plaque features Michelin's iconic mascot, Bibendum, often referred to as the Michelin Man. Created by the Michelin tire company, Bibendum was one of the earliest advertising mascots and remains instantly recognizable worldwide. The plaque, made of steel and enamel, is typical of mid-20th century industrial advertising art, prized for its vibrant color, weather resistance, and durability. Enamel signs like this were used in tire shops, garages, and road service stations to promote Michelin's brand and products. Bibendum symbolizes safety, reliability, and innovation in tires, making such plaques not only decorative but also significant collectibles for automotive and advertising history enthusiasts.
