Nikon Nikon Ai-S NIKKOR 28mm F2.8 Camera lens

The Nikon Ai-S NIKKOR 28mm F2.8 is a wide-angle prime lens designed for Nikon’s 35mm film and compatible digital cameras. The Ai-S designation indicates a mechanical aperture control protocol ensuring compatibility with manual exposure modes on older Nikon SLRs as well as many digital bodies with manual controls. With a focal length of 28mm, this lens offers a wider field of view compared to the standard 50mm, making it ideal for landscape, architecture, street, and environmental photography. The relatively fast f/2.8 maximum aperture provides good performance in various lighting conditions and permits some creative depth of field effects. The lens is appreciated for its solid build quality and consistent sharpness, contributing to its continued use among photographers who enjoy the precision and character of classic Nikkor optics. Such lenses remain relevant for digital shooters using adapters or vintage Nikon film camera users.
