Rolleiflex 3.5E 6x6 with Planar 3.5/75mm | Twin lens reflex camera (TLR)

The Rolleiflex 3.5E 6x6 camera is a classic twin-lens reflex (TLR) model, cherished for its quality craftsmanship and medium format imaging. Featuring a Planar 75mm f/3.5 lens, this camera produces square 6x6 cm negatives, favored for their exceptional detail and tonal range, used widely in portrait and fine art photography.

Twin-lens reflex cameras have two lenses of the same focal length: one for taking the picture and another for composing the image on a ground glass screen viewed from above. The Rolleiflex design is legendary for its solid build, precise mechanics, and excellent optics. The Planar lens, designed by Carl Zeiss, is known for sharpness, contrast, and attractive rendering, all traits highly valued in medium format photography.

The 3.5E variant provides a relatively fast lens aperture (f/3.5), allowing for better low-light capability and shallow depth-of-field effects, enhancing creative potential. The Rolleiflex TLR line has been a symbol of professional photography since the mid-20th century, blending usability with outstanding image quality.

For collectors, photographers, or enthusiasts of vintage analog cameras, the Rolleiflex 3.5E remains a highly desirable item. Its iconic design, mechanical reliability, and superior optics continue to make it a benchmark in film camera history and medium format photography culture.
