Nikon Nikkor AI 800mm 5,6 ED Camera lens

The Nikon Nikkor AI 800mm f/5.6 ED lens is an ultra-telephoto manual focus lens designed for Nikon F-mount cameras, notable for its extreme focal length suited to specialized photography such as wildlife, sports, and surveillance where distant subjects require close framing. ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements minimize chromatic aberration for improved image sharpness and color fidelity. The large physical size and long focal length demand sturdy support and careful handling but offer unique compositional possibilities. Such lenses are prized in analogue and digital photography alike by professionals needing powerful telephoto reach. Nikon's AI (Automatic Indexing) mount system facilitates compatibility with various camera bodies, representing a period of transition toward more automated lens-camera communication while maintaining manual focus operation.
