Sigma 105mm T1.5 FF Prime lens

The Sigma 105mm T1.5 FF Prime lens is a prime cine lens designed for full-frame cameras, notable for its fast aperture of T1.5 which allows exceptional performance in low-light and precise depth-of-field control. Prime lenses like this have a fixed focal length—105mm in this case—and are favored in both photography and cinematography for their sharpness, clarity, and typically superior optical quality compared to zoom lenses. The 105mm focal length places this lens in the short telephoto range, making it ideal for portraiture and close-up shots, where subject isolation and background blur are desired. The lens’s wide aperture enables a shallow depth of field, which helps in creating visually appealing bokeh effects while maintaining sharp focus on the subject. Cine lenses typically feature gears on the focus and aperture rings for smooth and silent adjustments during video production, enhancing professional usability. This type of lens is prized by filmmakers and photographers who require precise manual control and high image quality for a range of artistic applications.
