Nikon Nippon Kogaku Japan NIKKOR-S Auto 50mm F1:1,4 Ai mount Prime lens

The Nikon Nippon Kogaku NIKKOR-S Auto 50mm f/1.4 Ai mount prime lens is an iconic manual focus lens revered for its sharpness, contrast, and beautiful bokeh. Manufactured by Nippon Kogaku, the predecessor to Nikon Corporation, this lens represents the classic NIKKOR-S Auto lineage that predated Nikon's AI (Automatic Indexing) system but became compatible with AI bodies through slight modification. A 50mm focal length with a bright f/1.4 aperture makes it versatile for various photographic genres, from portraits to street photography, by allowing excellent control over depth of field and superior low-light performance. The Ai mount signifies compatibility with manual focus Nikon F-mount cameras employing AI metering, marking an important technological advancement in lens-camera integration. Enthusiasts prize this lens for its tactile manual focusing ring, robust metal construction, and the unique rendering characteristics typical of vintage Nikkor optics.
