The Eye Held Between Worlds
A red card with a blue eye connects a cosmic portrait and a green valley in a surreal study of attention and possibility.
The open eye on the card contrasts with the closed eye of the larger face. Seeing is displaced from the body into something held and examined. This can suggest the perspectives we carry: ideas, images, and expectations that influence our view even when we do not notice them directly.
The reaching hand adds an unresolved gesture. It may be offering contact, requesting attention, or approaching a new possibility. Because the hands do not complete their exchange, the image holds a moment of uncertainty that the viewer helps interpret. The red card remains a sharp visual center amid the softer clouds and deep blues.
The valley and floating traveler bring this imagined encounter closer to a landscape we could walk through. Familiar ground opens onto an impossible stream, connecting everyday experience with imagination. The work invites curiosity about which ways of seeing we hold tightly, and which we might be ready to reconsider.
